Jayapura, Jubi – The Head of the Papua High Prosecutor Office, Maruli Hutagalung who will terminate his duty in Papua feel betrayed.

He said, he would leave Papua soon after one and half years assignment. Based on the Papua Governor’s proposal, he would be replaced by his deputy, Herman da Silva.
“The decree has been issued. Actually I was Shocked. How could the governor propose the promotion of deputy? Since July, he has sent a letter to the Attorney General proposing the promotion of deputy. So I was betrayed since then. But it just happened now,” Hutagalung told reporter on Wednesday (22/10).

According to him, to determine the Head of Prosecutor Office is the General Attorney’s authority. So he was surprise finding this fact happened in Papua. He thought Deputy of Gorontalo Prosecutor Office Herman Kudubun would replace him in accordance to the proposal of the General Attorney Office.
“But the governor rejected the proposal. If the governor determined the head of prosecutor office, even the decree issued by the General Attorney Office, the head would listen the governor. I received fax from the deputy. So he already knew about his promotion,” said Maruli.

However he admitted he have good relationship with his successor. Only he thought the provincial government conducted “the betrayal” by using the position of the deputy who is not in line with him. Moreover he never met the Papua Governor since last February.
“Maybe he was used when I was secluded from the governor. I have not met the governor since seven months. Last time I met him when we discussed about the corruption case involved JW and DW. And I never met him since then. Is there any interest? It might be,” he said. (Arjuna Pademme/rom)
