Jayapura, 2/5 (Jubi) – The Head of Manpower of Province Papua said the Provincial Government has attempt to improve the performance of the Remuneration Council to fit the needs of the workers with the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP).

“We hope the regencies/munitipality government could take actions and adjust the Regional Minimum Wage (UMK),” the Head of Manpower Papua, Yan Piet Rawar said on Friday (2/5).

According to him, good relationships between employer and employees should be maintained that both parties could be mutually beneficial.
“It’s important to keep the commitment between both parties to create a good community of employment while the enterprise can get benefit as targeted,” he said.

Earlier, the Second Assistant of the Provincial Government, Elia Loupatty thought it’s not surprise if the workers were usually did a regular protest on the World’s Labour Day because they are struggling for their rights.
“I think it could be accepted if the workers fight for their right and their families’ welfare. The Government expected the workers especially those who live in Province Papua to work together with the employees and communities to improve their performance,” the Assistant said.

He further said the Provincial Government of Papua expected the employees to be more focus to expand their economic incomes. “If the economic was growing, it would bring a good impact to the workers in Papua,” he said. (Jubi/Arjuna/rom)
