Jayapura, 28/2 (Jubi) – The shooting acts have been occurred in Angkasera Village of Yapen Regency. No casualties in the incident.
Papua Police Spokesman, Commissionaire Senior Sulistyo Pudjo Hartono confirmed around 12:00 Papua time the shots were heard near the Police Station of Angkasera.
Pudjo trough the text message confirmed the group led by RO conducted the shooting. Soon after the shot, Chief of Angkaisera Police contacted the Chief of Yapen Police by phone to report the current situation. “When doing a patrol at the Kontinaen area, the Police Brigade got shot from a group led by RO and the police shot them back, no casualties.” He said.
Meanwhile, the Commander of Military District Command 1709 Yapen Waropen, Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Dedi Iswanto confirmed by phone that he was not able to provide some information because he is now in Jayapura. “Yes, it’s true, the army was not involved at that time. But it’s not my authority to answer such a question,” he said.
