Jayapura, Jubi – Papua Governor Lukas Enembe has proposed the annulment of Regional Regulation (PP) on the reserve fund, saying it has not benefited Special Autonomy.
He said the money should be used instead to promote education and health development.
“The reserve fund is only Rp 100 billion per annum and the total amount until the end of 2020 is only Rp 1.6 trillion. It certainly would have no impact at all,” he said on Wednesday (15/10). He considered the public needs the money for better education and health services.
“So we asked the Papua’s Parliament to abolish the fund and let us use it for education and health development,” he said.
In 2010, the Provincial Government of Papua issued PP No.1/2010 on the Reserve Fund but the regulation fails to outline specific programs and activities as well as a timeframe for implementation. (Alexander Loen/rom)
