“Our action is clear: we reject the Special Autonomy Plus bill (Otsus Plus) which has been floated by the government since 2013 ,” GEMPAR coordinator Yason Ngelia told reporters at the Cenderawasih University Students Executive Baord (BEM) Secretariat in Permunas III Waena , Jayapura on Monday ( 10/3) .

Ngelia, who is also the chairman of the Executive Board of the Student of Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at Cenderawasih University, said that even though the police refused to issue a permit for the protest, the group still hold a street rally.

“The threat of dissolution by the police is unreasonable and will not deter students in exercising their democratic rights,” he stated.
