Timika, Jubi – Police in Mimika have named five prison guards as suspects in last week’s death of an inmate.
“At first, only two people were suspected. Further investigation revealed three more suspects, ” said the chief of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Milmika police, AKP Galina Wardani
She further explained investigators were still completing the dossiers to be submitted to prosecutors .
“We’ve sent Notice of Commencement of Investigation to State Attorney in Timika. While the suspect files are being prepared and submitted to the Attorney, “Galina Wardani said this week.

The victim, deceased Jufri Kamal was known for the case of sexual abuse of two -year old kid. And he was sentenced to 10 years. Yet only five months he was in jail, he died from being persecuted.
Usman said that the persecution case related to the incident of the escape of three inmates from prisons Timika in mid April 2015.
“On Wednesday evening (22/4), the members conducted the search starting from 9 pm until the next morning but did not find the three inmates who escaped. At the Port Paumako they received information that the inmates who helped the escape of three inmates through cell phone contacts, ” Usman explained.
Because of feeling disappointed with the action, the guards searched all the belongings of inmates and found several mobile phones and one of the mobile phone with a brief message that lead to the escape of three prisoners.
