Jayapura, Jubi – The number of people joining family planning in Papua is at 46,826, an increase of 159.8 last year’s target, an official said.
“The 2014 target for new KB participants was 29,302,” the head of National Population and Family Planning (BKKBN) Auparai Nerius said in Jayapura last week.
In addition, he revealed that the province also nearly achieved the target for active participation, at 128,451 participants. The target was about 130,000.
“If presented, the number of active family planning participants reached 98.60 percent in 2014 in the province of Papua,” he said.
He said that, for the most basic things that must be done early is to formulate strategies and to optimize the performance management program for Population Family Planning and Family Development (KKBPK).
“By optimizing KKBPK, it will succeed the program in the field of population control and family planning,” he said again.
This aims at increasing the commitment of program managers in achieving the target set out in the RPJMN and strategic planning as well as assessing the success also the obstacles encountered in the implementation of KKBPK. (*)
