Emergency Section in Abepura Hospital Left Empty

Abepura, Jubi – The emergency section of Abepura Hospital in Jayapura City, Papua, has not been functioning as it should be.

The  section was built three years ago but has been left empty with no activity.

Security staffer Kasen Korwa  said the emergency installation moved at the end of last year.

“I do not know why it is moved. You could ask directly to the director,” hospital , said.

“You may go the upstair room since it has been moved,” he  said by, directing a number of patients to the upstairs room.

Alfie Lokowal, Abepura resident who was sitting in front of the installation emergency building, said the change made patients difficult because they had to walk.

“The position of building should be right in front of the highway. Something can be happened for the serious ill patients when they walk up to the room,” he explained.

Nedja Busup, Abepura resident, said the change was not known by many people..

“People who have long been in the city of Jayapura is also do not know. They’re always here looking for a place,” he said.

Jubi on its monitoring found the building was not occupied and looked full of dust and cobwebs in some corner of the room.
