Jayapura, 27/2 (Jubi) – The head of the Education Department of Jayapura City, Robert J Betaubun, anyone who finds cases of deductions in teachers’ certification funds to come forward.

“There’s no 10-percent deduction. It is the revenue tax deduction. If you know something, please contact the Head of Education Department or the Mayor Jayapura,” he told tabloidjubi.com on Wednesday afternoon (26/2) at the Mayor’s Office to response a rumor about such cuts.

He said the designated bank would transfer the funds directly to the teachers’ bank accounts, so if there is a deduction the percentage will be in accordance with regulations.
“If our officials did it in purpose, we will take a legal action, because it is related to the transparency and the accountability of the Education Department,” he said.

The Principal of SD YPPK Sion Padang Bulan, Ance Waly denied the rumor about the 10% deduction of teacher’s certification funds. She admitted it happened because of her fault. She didn’t report her last promotion. (Jubi/Sindung/rom)
