Jayapura, 25/1 (Jubi) – There is no state within a country and there is no greater power than the power of the state. This statement was stated by Pangdam XVII Cenderawasih ( Commander of Military Area XVII) , Maj. Gen. Christian Zebua.
He then said that the military-police security forces in Papua put forward this case to the Central Covernment related to Draft Law on Government Special Autonomy (Autonomy Government Law) or also called Draft Law on Special Autonomy Plus in Papua.

According to Christian, all people must know that before the Draft Law on Special Autonomy Plus emerged, his institution did not know about it. “I think they may go ahead as long as based on the regulations. We do not need much intervention. However, the most important ,we are here for the people who are now in need of development attention by the government .”he said.
In the Draft Law on the Autonomy Plus, there is no statement about a referendum. “It mentioned if the Autonomy Plus is not implemented, so that we ask for the blah blah blah. But I heard those chapters has been dropped out. Once again, I would like to say that let’s do a favor to the people so they will be more prosperous and would not complain against the government. “he said.
As reported by the media earlier, Timotius Murib, Chairman of the Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP) said, if the worst possibility if draft Law on Special Autonomy Plus that will be delivered to Jakarta by MRP , the Indonesian government is not approved, then the Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP) in Papua Province and West Papua Province will ask for a referendum.
“Actually, in article 299 of Law states, if after this law was passed but not implemented properly and consistently then MRP will conduct a special plenary in order to ask for a referendum.” said Timotius to reporters at the office of the MRP, Kotaraja, Jayapura, on Monday (20 / 1).
