Jayapura, 13/5 (Jubi) – Disappointed with the conduct of the April legislative elections, dozens of candidates complained to the Jayapura Mayor, Benhur Tommy Mano on Tuesday afternoon (13/5).
“We are here to get clear information about 10 additional seats in the Jayapura City Legislative and urged Jayapura mayor as a tribal child to voice our aspirations to the Jayapura Election Commission and the Election Supervisory Committee,” representatives of the indigenous people from Port Numbay, Yakobus Edward Hababuk, told tabloidjubi.com on Tuesday (13/5).
He also said there was no guarantee that protestors would stop the blockade unless their demands were met.
Tommy Mano said all parties should understand the regulation well.
“I think it will run smoothly based on mechanism. The ballot calculation is on the PPS level and at the level of the Commission is only recapitulation “he said.
He said that if candidates are not satisfied, they should report to the Supervisory Committee, or the Election Supervisory Body.
“I’m only speaking as a political adviser to the Commission and not stand for certain political parties, “he said. (Jubi/Sindung/Tina)
