Jayapura, Jubi – A team on New Autonomous Region (DOB) Gondumi Sisare hopes that President Joko Widodo consider Gondumi Sasare region in the autonomy agenda during the first year of his leadership.
Secretary of Gondumi Sisare division team, Onisimus Nussi said the establishment of new regions has met requirements set in Government Regulation (PP) 78 of 2007 and 2011 on the territorial division.
“Gondumi Sisare is feasible. Also, it has been addressed in Commission II of the DPR and DPD. Even when the team led by Paulus Sumino went down to the field looking directly Gondumi Sisare, ” Nussi explained on Saturday (18/10).
Gondumi Sisare has five districts ie Masirei, Misei Sayapi, Demba, Woti and Soyoi Mambai with a population of 7,811 inhabitants.
“The capital regency would be in Masirei district. The expansion is to improve people’s lives. Moreover, the area is far from Waroepen and can only be reached by sea, “he said.
According to him, natural resources (SDA) in Godumi Sisare is gas, coal, gold, silver, and copper. He has even expressed about the natural wealth of the region when the plenary in Commission II of the House of Representatives some time ago.
While East Kai Indigenous Council Chairman, Isak Samori said he expects all the East Kai community to remain patient and supportive in encouraging the expansion of Gondumi Sisare.
” I think the government has tried their best, so please be patient. Local Government and Waropen legislators have approved and is now trying to do everything possible to fight for it,” Isak Samori added. (Arjuna Pademme)
