Jayapura, Jubi – Increasing the amount of school operational funds (BOS) for students in Papua can not be realized, the Education Department of Jayapura said.
Even though the central government have raised BOS for 2015 from Rp 700,000 to Rp 1 million per student per year, but the copy of the decree (SK) from the Ministry of Education and Culture have not been received by the Jayapura city government.
“It has been announced but still we have not received a copy of the decree,” head of the junior high school division, Abdul Majid, said on Wednesday ( 22/10).
According to data at the Department of Education and Culture of Jayapura city, the number of junior high school recipients of BOS funds in 2013 was 12,984 students with allocation budget of around Rp 6.2 billion.
“We do not have any attachment to the year of 2014. Of course, if there is a change, the amount of funding will be adjusted depending on the increase in the number of students. MOU (agreement) is done by the provincial head of Education and Culture department three weeks ago. “he explained.
Jayapura BOS funds will be given each semester or per six months. This is different from other regions in Indonesia which is done each quarter.
Directorate General of Basic and Secondary Education , Didik Suhardi, as reported JPNN.com, said the increase in education funds in the 2015 Budget impacted on the increase of BOS allocation.
Continued, especially for Junior high school level, BOS budget rised from Rp 700 thousand to Rp. 1 million per student in a year.
“There are about 9.4 million junior high school recipients with total of budget is Rp. 9.4 trlillion ,” he said at the office.
The government also raised BOS funding for students at the level of Elementary School (SD). Initial amount of Rp 580 thousand increase to Rp 800 thousand per student in a year. (Sindung Sukoco)
