Deiyai, 25/2 (Jubi)- The chairman of Deiyai branch of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) in Deyai, Norbertus Mote said that he supported the idea of designating Deiyai region as the capital of a Central Papua province.
“Deiyai is a very strategic area because it is located in the center which is easy to reach by people who come from various regions in Central Papua,” said Mote.
He said Deiyai also meets the requirements to be a capital. It has various necessary facilities such as access roads from Timika to Deiyai, and Deiyai to Nabire, a national standard airfield, a harbor,and a spacious office area, adequate human resources and people’s desire to progress.
Meanwhile, hydroelectric power stations will be available in near future.
Earlier, the Home Minister had reported his visit and handed a number of files related to 65 New Autonomous Regions (DOBs) to the House of Representatives (DPR-RI)of Commission II, said Mote who also member of a team in charge of the administrative division of Central Papua Province.
“The first DPR-RI plenary meeting will be held in March and the second one will be in June 2014,” he added. (Jubi/ HOM/ Tina)
