Jayapura, 13/3 (Jubi) – Dr. Neles Kebadabi Tebay , Pr who just inaugurated for the second time serve as chairman of School of Philosophy Theology (STFT) of Fajar Timur, Jayapura said the conflict between group of Moni and Dani communities in Timika are recurring violence.

“The conflict  is not new. It is a kind of repetition that probably has different actors. The people involved may have experienced inter-community violence for long time, “Father Neles told reporters at STFT in Jayapura on Thursday (13/3).

He added  this conflict has been happening for long time and both community  should think how to end the violence and also how to prevent this violence happen again in the future. “ Well, now the victims are not only from both communities but also from the security forces. Maybe later, the civilians who have nothing to do with this tribal war would became a victim, ” he stated again.

Father Neles Tebay who also coordinator of Papua Peace Network hopes that Mimika Government to immediately take initiatives to invite the tribes who are fighting to sit and talk and then agree to end this war including the involvement of religious, community and traditional leaders.

Separately, Yusak Pakage, former Papuan Political Prisoners felt sorry  with such conditions that seemed no end.
According to him, it could indicate a certain game of parties. Pakage urged the people of Papua, especially to both tribes to end this conflict and to not hostile in your own land because Papuans population is decreasing.

“There are many important issues that we must resolve, not just the war. The Papuans are killed  from one disease to another disease. So, please end this war, ” Pakage said to tabloidjubi.com in Padang Bulan, Jayapura, on Thursday (13/3). (Jubi / Aprila/ Tina)
