Jayapura , 15/1 ( Jubi ) – Commemorating the Chinese New Year or often referred as Lunar New Year, Chinese peoples in Jayapura City will plug 1000 lanterns and do a variety of cultural attractions ahead of January 31 .
” We will show Jayapura City as a red city,” said Izhak Montolalu , chairman of Chinese Peoples Solidarity of Jayapura city, to tabloidjubi.com, Wednesday (15/1)
Izhak explained , it has received support from the Mayor and the Jayapura Police for the activities. “The city is owned by mayor that is why we ask for permission for such activities, ” said Izhak .
Jayapura’s Mayor , Benhur Tommy Mano admitted he were invited to discuss a range of activities to welcomes Chinese New Year celebration, next January 31 . ” I support the activities carried out by Thionghoa citizens of this city. They have contribute to the development of the city of Jayapura, including setting up jobs , ” said Mano .
Mano convey knick knacks lunar installation can be as promotion of culture . He asks all businessmenin Jayapura city, such as hotel owners , restaurants and other entertainment venues to install and enliven the Lunar Chinese New Year ornaments .
