Jayapura , 28/4 ( Jubi ) – The chairman of the Election Commission ( KPU) in Sarmi regency and another commissioner fled to Jayapura with vote count results from six districts on Saturday night ( 26/4 ).

The Papua Election Commission said Yosef Twenti and another commissioner left with the vote count results without notifying the other three members of the Sarmi Election Commission.
“We heard that the voting results will be brought to Jayapura but on arrival in Bonggo, Jayapura, they were intercepted by district police, the documents were taken. However, we do not know whether the document has been taken back to Sarmi or not. Therefore, we asked them to return the documents, ” Tarwinto said on Monday (28/4).

The Papua Election Commission said it would allow the police to investigate the case.
“The documents should have been officially issued through a plenary meeting and known by three other members, ” he said.

The chairman of the Papua Election Supervisory Body ( Bawaslu), Robert Horik said that one Bawaslu member, Fegie Watimena, went to Sarmi to investigate the matter.
“We are coordinating with the Papua police. This morning, she reported, the recapitulation process has being conducted. If there is no obstacle, tomorrow will be done .
