Jayapura, 26/2 (Jubi) – Campaign billboards installed by legislative candidates and political parties contesting next month’s general elections have no permits, an official said.

The Head of the One Direction Integrated Permit Services Department (BPPTSP), Yohanis Wemben, said only one of 12 political parties followed the rules on campaign posters.

Wemben told to tabloidjubi.com at his office on Tuesday (25/3) that the authority of the Department of Politics and National Unity and People’s Protection has the power to review campaign posters, and BPPTSP will issue the permit on its recommendation.
“Administration fees depend on the type of permits,” he said.

The chairwoman of the Jayapura Election Monitoring Committee, Hilda C Nahusona, said  political parties should pay attention to campaign rules.
“They must get installation permits from the City Planning Department and the local police station,” she said.
