Jayapura, Jubi – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Papua Province will deploy 3,662 officers to conduct a simultaneous economic census in May to assess the business sector as a whole.
“For Papua, there are 3,662 people, divided into the registrar, field officers as many as 2,633 and 1,029 for supervisors across all regencies,” said head of Distribution statistics BPS Papua Province, Adriana H. Carolina, in Jayapura on Wednesday (06/01/2016).
Later, BPS census officers will get training in April. According to him, the economic census will collect and present data of all economic activity in order to determine the condition of the economy in more detail.
” We will collect data related to all the business activities both formal and informal including assets, business prospects, and its constraints as well, ” she added.
In addition to settled businesses, it will also collect data about online businesses.
She said there are 14 variables in covering 19 business sectors such as name, address, activities, status, business entities, wages, employment and investment.
Quoted on the official page of BPS, deputy of Distribution and Service Statistics, Sasmito Hadi Wibowo expressed readiness for economic census 2016.
