Biak, Jubi – After distributing about 13,300 Healthy Papua Card (KPS), the Department of Health is now building a pharmacy in an effort to improve services to the community in Biak Numfor.

“The purpose to have a pharmacy bulding is to provide services 24 hours or on time to the public (patients) who use KPS Cards,” KPS coordinator at Biak Public Hospital, Peter Yapen, told  reporters in his office on Tuesday (21/10).

“This is one of our programs for Papuans as health care is a service of humanity,” said Yapen,  who is also the Secretary of the Regional General Hospital.

The hospital’s head of Medical Services, dr. Richard Ricardo, said he hopes that Papuans would use KPS card well, including by consuming drugs as prescribed. (Marten Boseren)
