Jayapura , 27/3 ( Jubi ) – Some regencies in Papua still have shortages of election supplies, with Biak Numfor still needing additional 16,000 ballots, according to chairman of the Election Commission of Papua, Adam Arisoy.
“We have already calculated the shortages and reported to the Central Election Commission. The supplies will arrive within two days. While for others areas supplies are still being delivered,” Arisoy said on Thursday (27/3).
According to Arisoy approximately 3,000 ballots in Jayapura regency are damaged but that would not affect the election there.
Problems related to voter rolls in Papua are likely to increase because there is no specific number of voters who have identity cards but have not been registered.
Earlier, the chairman of the Jayapura election commission, Henock Marai said blamed damage to the ballots poor quality printing. ( Jubi / Arjuna/ Tina )
