Jayapura, Jubi – Chief Representative of Bank Indonesia (BI) in Papua, Joko Supratikto, said he would reimburse money intended for the Social Welfare Savings Program (PSKS) which was destroyed in the Trigana Air accident according to the criteria set by Bank Indonesia.
“Basically BI is ready, but it will be seen what the physical condition of the money,” Joko said through social media, when contacted by Jubi on Thursday Afternoon (20/08/2015).
He asserted for the reimbursement, BI has the main criteria for the replacement of damaged money which is when the physical money is greater than two-thirds.
“The money is still recognizable with watermarks of authenticity,” he said.
He acknowledged the lack of communication with PT. Pos Indonesia to exchange the existing damaged money.
“Until now we have not been contacted by the Post,” he stated.
The management of PT Pos Indonesia (Posindo) of Regional XI Papua plans to exchange the remaining money which was found in the plane crash incident Trigana PK-YRN with IL-267 flight number in Atenok village, Oksob district, Pegunungan Bintang regency(Pegubin),
Head of the Operations Division of PT Pos Indonesia (Posindo) of Regional XI Papua, Hubertus Supriyanto, in Jayapura, on Wednesday (19/8), said the rest of the money will be recalculated and checked whether it is in good condition and not.
“If something is broken, we will switch to Bank Indonesia, so it can be used properly,” he said.
Meanwhile, the management of PT Pos Indonesia (Posindo) Regional XI Papua sent representatives to Oksibil airport, to pick up the rest of the money.
According to the head of PT Posindo Regional XI Papua, Agus Budi Satriyo informed the money will be handed over the joint SAR in Oksibil Airport on Wednesday afternoon (19/8).
“Despite the billions of rupiah damaged, it should still be taken as evidence,” he said.
He explained that they do not ‘chase’ the money value, because it is an accident and has been under insurance protection, but it must be taken according to the conditions. (Sindung Sukoco/ Tina)
