Jayapura, 8/2 (Jubi) The education departement of Jayapura Municipality reported there are 8553 students of SMP / MTs, SMA / MA and SMK in Jayapura will take National Examination (UN) this year.

“After conducting national examination validation process, total of students registered is 8,553 consisted of 4,341 students from 44 middle schools level, 2387 students of 30 high schools and 1,375 students from 15 vocational schools,” said Education Department head of Jayapura municipality Robert J Betaubun, on Friday (2/8).

Robert also mentioned that there were challenges found in this validation process yet they were able to handle, for example the number of participants was not validated.
“There is also a plan to discuss the UN grille. Our mission is ensuring one hundred percent students graduate in Jayapura,” he said.

Head of Secondary Education, Department of Education of Jayapura, Cliford Korwa stated the UN participants are 3,762 consisted of 30 state and private high schools (SMA / MA ) and vacational schools (SMK ).
“Department of Education has similar target as previous years to achieve maximal results. It is also expected by Jayapura Mayor,” he said.

Furthermore he explained all students will undertake UN tryout and competency test held by Municipal Jayapura Government. Even though each school has done its own tryout
“Try out and competence test will be held on Monday, February 10 which will be officially opened by the Mayor of Jayapura,” he said.

Principal of SMK 5 Jayapura, Hadi Prayitno is optimistic that his school will achieve  a 100 percent graduation.
“I am optimistic, SMK 5 Jayapura can reach 100 percent graduation,” he said. (Jubi / Sindung/Tina)
