Money and gun, evidences on case of gun suplier (Jubi)
Jayapura, 2/7 (Jubi) – Papua Police once again arrested three people for possession of firearms and bullets in Sorong.
The suspects were arrested at Sorong Seaport, West Papua on Monday, 30 June 2014 at around 20.15 when they were on a passenger ship Lambelu.
Police checked their luggage and found the firearms and bullets.
The suspects were identified as Simon Kararbo, a resident of Jalan Mulawarman of Nabire Regency, Duka Roger, a resident of Galela Selatan Sub-district of Halmahera Utara Regency, and Manase Wesara, a resident of Tobelo Sub-distrist of Halmahera Regency.
Papua Police Chief Inspector General Tito Karnavian confirmed the arrest, but he declined to give details. Last week, police also arrested three people for carrying firearms and bullets at Abepantai, Jayapura City. The suspects allegedly smuggled the firearms and bullets from Papua New Guinea to be distributed to certain groups in the Papua’s mountain areas. (Jubi/Arjuna/rom)
