Jayapura, Jubi – The Draft Special by Law ( Raperdasus) on 14 legislative seats for indigenous Papuans can be enacted, despite not being approved by Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP).

“If within 30 days MRP does not give approval, it can still make it to the local government administration” chairman deputy of Papua Legislative Council (DPRP), Albert Bolang said on Saturday ( 11/10)

He said  MRP’s duty is to give consideration and approval, and its refusal was more about the drafting mechanism and not the content.
“Its consideration is more on the draft substance whether it is for Papuans or not. So, I think, we do not need to take it too far because all the processes are running,” he said.

He confirmed that the bill has got its numbering of the ministry, yet it has not been enacted.
